Prescription collection & delivery service

The Curridge Volunteer Network is now able to collect prescriptions from Downland Practice for self isolating residents in the village, so here are details of the process:

  • You (the patient) need to inform the surgery that you are happy for the Curridge community volunteers to collect medication on your behalf - please see the following page on the practice website: https://www.downlandpractice.nhs.uk/practice_news/medication-home-drop-off/
  • Curridge has been allocated Thursday mornings for a weekly collection run from the surgery.
  • The prescription needs to be ready when we go to collect or it will miss that collection run. The surgery currently advises that prescriptions will take a minimum of 4 working days to be prepared, but it would be safer to assume 6 days.

The volunteers collecting will have no information about what is available to be collected until they arrive at the surgery, nor will they know anything about your specific medication. All they will receive is a sealed, addressed package to be delivered to your front door during Thursday daytime. The volunteer will need to speak to you before the package can be handed over, and any undelivered medication will be returned to the surgery later on the same day.

All queries relating to your medication and availability of it for collection should be addressed directly to the surgery. It would be helpful if when ordering prescriptions you specifically ask for it to be added to the CURRIDGE collection box as sometimes there can be confusion over Curridge/Hermitage addresses.

If a more urgent collection is required than waiting for the next Thursday run, then we will try to arrange this for you - please contact the volunteer network on help20@curridgevillage.co.uk or 07842 840644 (please leave message if no reply).

If you are collecting a prescription yourself, please note the pharmacy's revised opening hours of 9.30-1, 2-5.
