walk A
'Marsh Lane Can be Marshy!' A circular walk of approx. 50 minutes.
Start on the road with your back to the front door of The Bunk Inn.
Turn right. Walk along Kiln Drive for approximately 75 metres then take the byway which goes to the right of the right-hand entrance pillar of Curridge Park. Follow this byway up, then down and along with a sand quarry on your left. Go round a right-hand bend following the track between two quarries until you take the turn left into a byway, keeping the M4 on your right. Follow this 'avenue' of young trees, at first parallel to the M4 and then as it veers to the left. When you meet a tarmacked service road cross that road and enter the field. Turn left as you enter the field. Keep the hedge and then a small, triangular plantation on your left. Go through the field boundary and follow the byway (Public Right of Way Byway) to the right.
You are now on Marsh Lane, with the wood on your left and fields on your right. Go uphill and then down until you pass houses on both sides and Marsh Lane joins the Curridge to Winterbourne Road.
Turn left along the road ( BENDS AND NO PAVEMENT). Just after you have seen the turning to Curridge Green on the right the road rises slightly and the road to Curridge School is on the left. Take the road to Curridge School. Just beyond the school gates keep the school railings close to your left and the road becomes an unmade footpath. Go down that footpath and turn left when it joins the un-made Chapel Lane. Follow Chapel Lane back to The Bunk Inn.

`Copyhold Farm and Beyond' Approximately 1 hour
Start on the road with your back to the front door of The Bunk Inn
Turn left and walk along the road for approximately 200 metres until you take the first turning on the left into Crabtree Lane. Walk along Crabtree Lane and where there is a fork, bend round to the left. Walk up to Copyhold Farm and bear right between the farm buildings. Go straight ahead and, when the path divides, go along the bridleway keeping the hedge to your right and (at first) a barn to your left. Continue straight ahead when the path narrows.
Cross the quarry road and keep the blue and red gates, and then the woodland, close to your left. After approximately 350m you will come to a gated opening in the bank on your left. Go through the opening and turn immediately right into a byway, keeping the M4 on your right. Follow this 'avenue' of young trees. At first the track is parallel with the M4 and then it veers to the left. When you meet the tarmacked service road cross that road and enter the field. Turn left as you enter the field. Keep the hedge and then a small, triangular plantation on your left. Go through the field boundary and take the footpath straight ahead into the woodland, keeping the quarry on your left. Follow the path up the hill, along and then down, quite steeply, at the other side. Go over a stile into the field. Follow the footpath straight ahead, climbing more stiles, until you join Chapel Lane (just after passing The Georgian House on your right). Turn left down Chapel Lane and this will take you back to The Bunk Inn.

`Family Walk'
A circular walk of approx. 35 minutes or extended to approx. 50 minutes
Start on the road with your back to the front door of The Bunk Inn.
Walk to the right and then almost immediately left into Chapel Lane. Follow this un-made lane, ignoring other footpaths, until it meets the tarmacked Curridge to Winterbourne Road beside the green W.I. Hall.
Turn left onto the pavement and go down the road. On the other side of the road shortly after the left hand bend and the cattle-gridded entrance to The Warren there is a narrow footpath to the right. Take that footpath which climbs steadily between two fences with the drive to The Warren to the right. At the top the path levels out and you will see all kinds of interesting animals and birds as you walk past the smallholding.
Follow the path down the other side with woodland on your left and fields on your right.
When this path eventually rejoins the Curridge Road turn left and cross the Curridge Road to walk on the pavement. After Plantation Close there is no formal pavement, but there is a grass verge to walk on. Keep straight on and when you come to Crabtree Lane on the right you can choose to return to The Bunk Inn by keeping on the road into `Curridge Village Only' or you can extend your walk a little.
Extended walk (A further 15mins.)
Turn right into Crabtree Lane. Follow the lane and take the left fork near the top of the incline. Walk along the drive up towards Copyhold Farm. Just before you reach the farm buildings take the footpath through a kissing gate on the left.
Follow that path between two fences until you reach a stile. After you have climbed the stile walk a few metres to join the road. Turn right to return to The Bunk Inn.
