Snapshot…of the Parish Council meeting on 13 June 2017.

Planning Applications
Consideration was given to applications at the meeting. Of note for a development of 4 live/work units, outline planning for the erection of 10 residential dwellings.  In addition, a consultation for 40 dwellings as an adjoining parish consultee and a free range egg laying unit. Further information about Planning Applications can be found on the Planning advice section of the West Berkshire Council website.

Curridge Playground Project
Parish Council approval was given to carry out tree works and weed spraying on the playground as requested by the Trustees.  

Chieveley Cricket Club Nets Project
The Parish Council gave approval to release S106 development contribution public open space funds of £2,000 towards the Cricket Club Nets Project at the Recreational Centre for club members and members of public to use.

By- Election for Curridge Ward
A by-election has been requested by 10 members of the Curridge Ward electorate to fill the one vacancy.   The Parish Council agreed to budget for approximately £300 towards associated costs of a poll due to take place on 20 July 2017 if more than one candidate applies.  Deadline for nominations to be received by Weet Berkshire council Returning Officer is before 4pm Friday 23 June 2017.

West Berkshire Council Adopt the Housing Site & Allocations Development Plan Document
West Berkshire Council adopted the HSA DPD on 9 May 2017 as a new planning policy West Berkshire Council HSA DPD.

Road Closures affecting the Parish - Old Street, Oare Closure 6 – 19 June and Manor Lane, Oare Closure 20 June – 3 July for telecommunication works.
M4 Junctions 12 to 13: Bridge Refurbishment – Sunday 18th June: In addition to the 24 hour traffic management currently in place, the M4 eastbound carriageway between junctions 13 and 12 will be closed overnight on Sunday 18 June, between 9pm and 6am. Friday 23rd June – Sunday 25th June: The eastbound carriageway between junctions 13 and 12 will also be closed overnight on Friday 23 June and Sunday 25 June, between 9pm and 6am. Advance warning signs have been put up and a clearly signed diversion route will be in place via the A4 for these closures. 
Public Rights of Way (PROWs) -  reported for being overgrown CHIEVE 1, CHIEVE 38/1 and WINT 19/1.  If you discover an overgrown PROW please report it to West Berkshire Council for attention using Report a Problem.
