Curridge Oil Group

​This is a community initiative which has operated within the village for many years and is run by volunteer residents, Nick Collins and Kirsti Murray.

The idea is to place bulk orders of domestic heating oil, to achieve group savings on our heating bills. Membership of the group is free, is open to all residents of Curridge and is without obligation.  

​We aim to order three times a year and the next scheduled dates are published on this page.

HOW IT WORKS
  1. Registered Members will receive an email two weeks prior to the next scheduled order which will contain a link to place an order (or if you prefer you can order from this page).​
  2. Orders are collated using Google forms and the ordering link is closed at 7pm. NB: we cannot confirm the oil price before your order is submitted, and we can sadly not accept any late orders or requests for change, after the 7pm deadline.
  3. The organisers call a number of reputable oil providers, seeking quotes for the total litres in the group order and place it with the provider who offers the lowest price. The order is submitted to them and your details are passed over
  4. You will receive an email from the organisers confirming that the order is placed and importantly, the Oil Provider's terms - please ensure this is read and understood as they work in different ways, some taking payment upfront.       ** This is where our involvement ends ** 
  5. Delivery is usually expected within 5-10 working days (but this is confirmed on the order confirmation email) and any enquiries after this email must be directed to the Oil Provider.  ​

​Other OIl Clubs / Affilliations,  & OIL THEFTS

Regarding other Oil Clubs, we have become aware that when Googling "Curridge Oil Group", two main results are returned:

   -  The Curridge Village website leading to the Curridge Oil Group page that you are currently on,

   -  another site which purports to be "The Curridge Heating Oil Club" which has no affiliation with Curridge Village 

You are, of course, perfectly at liberty to use this organisation, but please be aware that our Group and Curridge Village, have no affiliations with this "Club" and it appears to be a nationally run scheme.  We do not know if they are a profit making organisation but it has caused some confusion with a few COG members who have accidentally placed orders with them, thinking they are ordering through COG.  For the avoidance of doubt, COG is a non profit making community initiative and operates solely to support our village and local community.
