Snapshot…of the Parish Council meeting on 10th June 2014.

Planning Applications

One planning application was tabled for consideration.  The application was for household improvements comprising single storey rear and side extensions, new carport, porch, and a loft conversion with dormer windows.

Further information about Planning Applications can be found on the Planning Advice section of the West Berkshire Council website.

Financial Regulations Review

The Parish Council considered and approved updates to the Parish Council Financial Regulations.  Updates included the provision of processes and procedures for electronic banking, should this be required in future.

Grants

The Parish Council reviewed its standard criteria and conditions document, and application form, which are made available to members of the community when applying for small grants or donations.  In discussion, a number of suggested changes and improvements to the document and application form were made.  These suggested changes and improvements will be collated and further discussed, along with possible revisions to the overall application and award processes, at a future meeting.

Latest News

The Parish Council received report about the status of the Latest News’ publication process and impact.  It was noted that May 2014 saw the publication of the 30th edition.  Electronic copies of the Latest News are published via a News link on the home page of the www.mychieveley.co.uk website, via the Parish Council’s home page, and via the News section on the www.curridgevillage.co.uk website.

Hard copies are used on Village Notice Boards and content has been included in the Parish Magazine and has been displayed at the Parish Annual Assembly.  The Latest News is thought to have contributed to an increase in the use, by members of the community, of the information and documentation made available by the Parish Council on its web pages.

New Notice Board

The Parish Council agreed that a previously used/known contractor would be asked to put up the recently delivered noticeboard outside the Chieveley Village stores.
