Upgrade of Cabinet P12 on the Hermitage Exchange

7/10/2015

As you may be aware Superfast Berkshire has been working with BT Openreach over the last year to extend broadband provision in areas that the private sector deemed to be ‘Commercially Unviable’.  Recently we have seen the upgrade of 1 cabinet with a Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) solution in your parish.

Hermitage Exchange – Cabinet P12 which serves 143 premises in total (with

The affected postcodes are as follows:

HERMITAGE P12
RG18 9AARG18 9DHRG18 9DLRG18 9DN
RG18 9DPRG18 9DRRG18 9DSRG18 9DU
RG18 9DXRG18 9DYRG18 9DZRG18 9EA
RG18 9EBRG18 9EDRG18 9EERG18 9EG
RG18 9EQRG189LT

Individuals can check on which cabinet they are connected to by using BT Wholesale Checker – http://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html by entering their BT Landline or Postcode.

Please ensure that superfast broadband (greater than 24Mbps) may not be available for all premises within an individual postcode as they may be served by different infrastructure (i.e. not yet covered or not yet upgraded) or they may be located too far from the cabinet and only able to receive a reduced speed.

Those wishing to take advantage and upgrade their broadband should contact their Internet Service Provider or check their availability options with a broadband comparison website and place an order.  They do not have to use BT, there are usually a number of options.

Please note that broadband speeds will not automatically happen.
